Relief Map Rug

Relief Map Rug The latest entry in the gifts for the “geographer who has everything” category is the Relief Map Rug from Dutch designer Laurens van Wieringen

The carpet depicts a landscape scene and is made using soft colored foam rods at varying heights to show elevation relief.

I love that rug! I like how it is fairly abstract when you look at it closely (at their site) yet it looks like a landscape from farther away. The colors are very “juicy” and it looks very high-tech, similar to some web sites color shemes.
