People who write computer viruses suck

Yes, we all know it, but today seems like a good day to reiterate that sentiment, as we desperately work to get our Geography and GIS lab computers up and running after we were compromised by a security hole in our anti-virus software’s live update. Ironic really. The university has blocked all ports on the infected computers, so we can’t access the internet in our teaching lab for the most part, and we of course can’t get any work done while we run around manually cleaning and updating individual computers.

So, needless to say, we may not be blogging much until things get sorted out, which may be a couple of hours or the rest of the day.
