If you are at the Esri UC in San Diego, swing by Room 30E of the SDCC at 5:30PDT for our 6th anniversary celebration. Elvin Slavik of the ArcPad Team will once again join us at the mics to share wisdom on geospatial in general.
I forgot the webcam, so we probably won’t be able to stream the live show, but if I can pull something together we will try to stream at http://www.ustream.tv/user/VerySpatial.
Apologies for the delay in the podcast this week. I have had some bandwidth issues so I haven’t been able to get the episode uploaded. If all goes will it should be up and live Wednesday afternoon, earlier if the interwebs cooperate.
A quick reminder that entries for our 6th anniversary contest must be in by Sunday, July 10. You can access and answer all of the questions on the contest page. Our grand prize winner (from the US) will get an XBOX 360 with a Kinect (4GB model) while our runners up (from anywhere) will get something from our SWAG shelf. We will announce the winners at our avsp Live! show this Wednesday at 5:30 PDT and on the website over the weekend when the live show goes up as the podcast.
Good luck!
It is that time of the year again…we are prepping for the pilgrimage out to San Diego. We will be wandering the halls and…well…the halls talking to folks and learning a more about what folks are doing with geospatial technologies, especially the Esri ones. As usual we will have our live show and you are all invited. We will kick things off at 5:30pm on Wednesday, July 13 in Room 30E of the SDCC. If you get a chance head over to the VerySpatial facebook page and let us know you are attending on the event announcement or send us a tweet (@veryspatial) so that we can know how many cupcakes to bring to celebrate our 6th anniversary.
In addition to the live show we have a few presentations as well:
As always, there are a ton of great sessions to check out at the EdUC and UC. If you are going to be there you may want to swing by one of ours.
We are lucky to have pulled in Jim Skurzynski, President and CEO of Digital Map Products, to provide an industry perspective to help balance our normal education and research focus on Geography and geospatial technologies. Jim will bring a strong cloud perspective which we talk about occasionally on the podcast from an observer’s view, but now you can get a perspective of someone more firmly in the trenches of what the cloud means and where it will take us. I will round out this introduction with his blurb from the DMP website.
Jim Skurzynski is one of the original founders of Digital Map. He has spent the majority of his career designing and managing the deployment of technology solutions in a variety of public and private sector environments. Over the past twenty years, he has held executive management positions in spatial technology companies in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
It is time to round-out our countdown to our 6th anniversary. Remember that you can answer each question once and that all entries must be submitted by July 10.
No more submissions accepted at this time.
Correct answers will be entered into our drawing for an XBOX 360 with Kinect (4GB model) additional details are available at the contest page.

I think the lengthy title covers it, but due to a conference cold, travel today, and lack of sleep I won’t have the next episode (300) up until Monday evening. I will email the “countdown to 300″ contest winners Monday morning to get addresses and such, but I can say that the Kindle will be going to Andrew from Whitman, MA…CONGRATS!!
This week we hit a foursome of 300′s
And hey, in just under 3 months, we get to celebrate 6 yrs…
