A pre-AAG tale

Twas the night before AAG and all through the South End
Plenty of folks were a stirring especially with flights coming in.

The programs were all waiting for the registrants in their packs
While the opening plenary was being finalized by Jeffrey Sachs

The presenters were finishing their slides and note cards
As grad students searched for the beer and wine bars

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear
But three hotels for me to keep up with

With sessions so often and sessions so spread
I knew at once that there was much to dread

But to the conference I will spring and I may even whistle
’cause Geography is in Boston, with many a topic to see
(apparently my original thistle rhyme was more Scottish than Irish)

And I will exclaim as I present and I chair
don’t go over your time, don’t you dare 🙂
