If you want to be really depressed, check out the Havaria Information Service AlertMap, a Google Maps-based which displays alerts of all types from around the world. Even though it’s nowhere near comprehensive, the map still shows a wide range of natural and man-made disasters at any given moment, both short and long-term (check out Greenland, for instance). I clicked on a few entries, but really, it’s just a little too much….
