I have posted the book review for Remote Sensing for GIS Managers under the columns section. I did a book corner on Episode 46 that is a little more detailed than the 500 words we limit our book reviews to. Either way, it is a solid reference book at a good price.



Serenity Movie Charity Screenings

Ok, technically not geography, but it’s been awhile since we’ve blogged anything about Joss Whedon’s Firefly universe, so I am remedying that now.
Serenity fans have set up a worldwide series of screenings (47 at last count) of the Firefly-based movie Serenity to benefit the charity Equality Now, which will take place between June 22-30th. [...]



Opera 9 and widgets

As you all may know I am a fan of the widget. Konfabulator was wonderful, Yahoo Widgets made them more ubiquitous, and of course Apple stole widgets from Konfabulator (and Widgets in Vista…have I mentioned Vista is very pretty).
Now, Opera has officially released version 9 complete with…you guessed it, widgets. [...]
