The Along Track Scanning Radiometer (ATSR) World Fire Atlas, based on a decade of Eurpoean Space Agency ESR-2 and other satellite data, is now available online at the ESA’s Ionia Web Map Server. Global fire data can also be downloaded directly from the site, although you will have to complete a free registration.

The schedule for WWW2006, taking place now in Edinburgh, shows that one of the paper sessions taking place Thursday morning will focus on geospatial web applications along with a few posters that focus of geography and geotagging. Unfortunately there is nothing on GeoRSS, but I think we will be hearing quite a bit on that at Where 2.0. Anyway…if any one is at WWW2006 and attends the session Thrusday morning let us know and we will pass it along.
