New tomb discovered in Egypt

Feb 12th, 2006 | By | Category: General

I’m sure many of you have already seen this news in the major media outlets, but it really is an exciting event. For the first time since Howard Carter’s discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922, an intact and previously unknown tomb has been found in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. Ironically, the entrance shaft to the tomb was located only about 3 meters from Tut’s tomb, and probably dates to the same 18th Dynasty period. You can read more about the find at most of the major news websites, but here is a link to the BBC News coverage.
