I’ve mentioned on the podcast my interest in virtual worlds and gaming worlds in particular. Here’s a google map that details the World of Warcraft atlas. They’ve actually attributed the map pretty well and the ‘arial photography’ is pretty decent!

[...] I blogged this way back in January when it first came out. It’s a World of Warcaft Online Map using the Google Maps API. They’ve added a bunch of functionality to the map, with layers you can turn on and off. It includes both “photography” as well as point layers (like where treasure is located) and polyline layers(indicating common travel paths). All I can say is that I aboslutely love World of Warcraft. I’ve been playing for about a year now and don’t plan on stopping. While WoW is addicting, I must say that I play for more than just the addiction, I play for the social aspect as well since a lot of my friends kick it in Azeroth! – Representing Akama – Lvl 60 Warrior
Thanks for the Warcraft Google Map..

Anybody know where the World of Warcraft European servers are located? Someone said they are all in Britain but I am not sure. Would they have some in Germany, some in Finland etc?
I am trying to do a business plan for my own massive multiplayer game and was wonder how they spread out the resources.
